Travel Tips:

  • Permits: Travel to Lachen, Lachung, and other areas near the Indo-Tibetan border requires permits, which can be arranged through local travel agencies in Gangtok.
  • Acclimatization: The high altitude may cause altitude sickness, so it’s essential to acclimatize in Gangtok before heading to higher altitudes like Lachen and Lachung.
  • Clothing: Pack warm clothes, even in summer, as temperatures can drop unexpectedly.

In summary, Gangtok, Lachen, and Lachung offer a diverse experience, from the bustling cultural heart of Sikkim to the serene and unspoiled beauty of the northern Himalayas.
